Introduction
This project we were given the problem of solving world problem with biotechnology. Our solution is to have a altered composter to lessen our footprint with food waste and water waste on Earth. We have a normal composter, but rather than using hose water, we connected it to a rain barrel to use water that usually would not be used. The composter design will also be sleek and pleasing to the eye, making it more desirable to customers. By have a composter connected to a rain barrel, we make the composter easier to take care of over most composters. Less work will make people more willing to compost. Our solution will solve the problem of food waste because rather than tossing leftovers, they can be repurposed, helping the environment and creating less trash to be picked up.
Presentation
Content
Compost- decayed organic material used as a plant fertilizer, used in our solution to break down food.
Decompose- make or become rotten; decay or cause to decay, used to make soil in project.
Oxygen- a colorless, odorless reactive gas, helps to break down the food faster in composter.
Micro organism- a microscopic organism, especially a bacterium, virus, or fungus, use oxygen to help break down the food faster.
Greenhouse gases- a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect by absorbing infrared radiation, we reduce the emissions by composting.

Reflection
This project was definitely my favorite one of the year! In our project I thought we did a really good job of having a reasonable solution.Sometimes with projects our plans are not achievable, but this solution could completely be solved. However we could improve on the way we present our information. We probably could have organized all our information in a more reasonable manor.
During this project I learned first, how to use outside sources to help a project. For this project we were required to have mentor to ask questions. This was nice to have support from an adult. Also, I learned more about how science can be in our everyday life. Especially during this project we saw how biotechnology effects composting.
There are a couple of things that we could improve upon in the future. First, we could have been more productive about the way we organized our information. In the slideshow we could have used more background information. Also, we could have added more to our solution to go with the biotech improvements. We used the spinning of the coposter to get more oxygen which helps break the food down, but we could have thrown in another element.
